Enjoy the post!

I’m excited to be joining you today on Pixel Odyssey! I want to share a fun and simple recipe for your very own Beach Day Lotion which helps provide natural protection on sunny days. I got this recipe from my friend, Lindsey, at She has so many wonderful recipes! Check her out!

This takes less than an hour from start to finish, half of that time is in the fridge, and it was so easy to make. Thankfully I already had all the ingredients but they can all easily be found on or specialty health stores.

What you’ll need:

Put the shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil in a double boiler or a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water and allow them to melt. The beeswax takes a little time so be patient. Stir every few minutes to help it melt faster. Once everything has melted, (it took about 8-10 minutes for me) carefully remove from heat and add the zinc oxide, vitamin e, and essential oils. Stir well to incorporate the zinc oxide. Pour into silicone molds or small glass jars and place in refrigerator about 30 minutes to firm up.

These will melt a little bit if in the heat so just keep in a jar or sealed container to avoid making a mess in your beach bag.

That’s it! I only use and only recommend using Young Living oils as I love their Seed to Seal Process and trust the purity of their oils. If you would like to learn more on essential oils, join me on Facebook in my Essential oil usage group, Agape Homestead Essential Oils.
